Nuisance calls: worker defends telesales industry
A call centre worker has defended her industry, claiming they are unfairly given a bad reputation.
It comes after the Government consider more stringent measures to deal with "nuisance" telephone calls.
Karen, who has worked in telesales for 20 years, said people viewed her as "evil" because of her job, but she never employed unethical "tricks" to make sales.
She told BBC Radio 5 live's Stephen Nolan: "It's a case of calling someone and if they're looking for that service then they will buy it from you - if they're not, then they won't."
