The Singapore family with a fortune to give away

Singapore may boast more millionaires than almost anywhere else on the planet per capita, but when it comes to giving, it ranks below even some developing countries.

Nevertheless, there has been a long tradition of philanthropy, mostly through wealthy "family foundations".

Prominent among these is the Tan Chin Tuan foundation, named after the man behind one of Singapore's largest banks, Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation.

Sharanjit Leyl spoke to his grand-daughter, about their family's business of giving.
