Indonesia's protective sea wall sparks controversy
The two major economic summits between the 21-strong Apec group and the smaller Asean club have spent much of their time occupied with infrastructure.
Billions of dollars of spending is needed across the continent.
The biggest infrastructure project in the region is currently underway in Indonesia with $40bn (£25bn) being spent to try to protect the capital Jakarta from flooding.
As part of the project a giant sea wall would be built, but not everybody supports the plans, as the BBC's Kiki Siregar has been finding out.
