Pressure to ban payday loan ads before TV watershed

Payday loan TV advertising could be banned before the 21:00 watershed after the government has been asked to review the timings of the adverts.

The Children's Society claim that children may encourage parents to take out high interest loans after watching the adverts.

However, the payday industry opposes the ban, and says they do not target children.
