Boxing Day sales: 'It's like an adrenaline rush'

The Boxing Day sales are underway with a strong turnout over the country.

It has traditionally been the busiest day for shops in the UK, but this year retail analysts expect it to come a close second to the so-called Black Friday sales last month.

The Next fashion chain began their sale with the doors opening at 6am, one of their stores on Oxford Street in London's West End counted 600 people in the queue.

Many other retailers, like Selfridges opened at 8am.

The BBC's Phil Mackie reports from the Bullring in Birmingham where he spoke to Rebecca Stanley who was the first person in the Selfridges's queue.
