India aims to build up its domestic defence sector

India is the world's biggest arms importer.

The Indian government however, has said that buying 70% of its weapons abroad is getting too expensive, and that it is time to develop the domestic defence industry properly.

But could cutting the reliance on imports mean the military will suffer?
