Why China isn't part of Asia's trade deal

The Trans Pacific Partnership - TPP - is a band of eleven Pacific Rim countries trying to finalise an ambitious free trade deal with the US - which would cover one-third of world trade.

But the agreement is still the subject of drawn out negotiations.

Leisha Chi spoke to US ambassador to Singapore Kirk Wagar and asked him first why Asia's biggest economy, China, isn't a party to the deal.
