Co-operative Group returns to annual profit

After being battered for several years with big losses and scandals which dented its ethical credentials, the Co-operative Group has returned to profit.

It made £124m last year compared with a loss of £255m in 2013.

In the past year, it has sold its pharmacy chain and farms raising £216m.
