UK inflation shows little change as it rises to 0.1%

The latest inflation figures show that prices are barely rising.

The Consumer Price Index rose by 0.1 percent in July, after hitting zero in June.

Falling food and drink prices are helping to keep the overall rate low.

The other inflation measure, the Retail Price Index, which is used to set regulated rail fares, increased by one percent - that's the first time in more than a decade that fares will rise less than wages.

Andy Verity reports.
