The BBC looks at the troubles around restaurant tipping

Most of us like to reward good service when we eat out. But, a string of stories about some restaurant chains keeping all or part of their staff tips may well have left a bad taste in customers' mouths.

A Government investigation into the "abuse" of tipping in restaurants ends today, and could see a limit imposed on the amount of money that can be withheld from employees.

The BBC's Stephanie McGovern looks at the issues.
