Want to be "nudged" by your bank to save money?

HSBC is piloting an app to see how its customers respond to being monitored over their spending habits.

Known as "nudge banking" it claims to help you save money by alerting you to certain behaviours. These could include your most expensive day of the week or how your savings compare with other people of your age and income.

Do customers want to be reminded of their spending habits? Head of HSBC's retail banking, Francesca McDonagh, told the BBC that most do.
