Central banks 'too aggressive' on rates

Dominic Rossi, global chief investment officer of equities at Fidelity, has told the BBC that central banks have been "too aggressive" when communicating over interest rates.

In an interview with BBC economics editor Kamal Ahmed, Mr Rossi said central banks had been forced to "row-back" over comments suggesting future interest rate rises.

That change of position had contributed to the recent volatility on the financial markets, he said.

Mr Rossi was first asked for his opinion about the decision in December by the US Federal Reserve to raise interest rates.
