EDF seeks French government funding for Hinkley Point
The energy company, EDF, has said it cannot confirm its commitment to build a new nuclear reactor at Hinkley Point in Somerset unless the French government provides more money.
The reactor at Hinkley Point is the first in a series of planned new nuclear power stations, intended to guarantee the UK's energy security.
Earlier this week, EDF's finance director resigned, warning the contract would break the company.
