Gold scheme for India temples
Donating gold to temples is a tradition for many Indians, but the government wants to take the precious metal out of the vaults and put it into the economy.
Tempted by interest payments, temples are slowly coming forward to deposit their gold with banks.
The BBC visited Tirupati, the richest Hindu temple in the world, which holds seven tonnes of the metal, worth some $275m (£207m).
