When it comes to "unicorns" - the business jargon for tech companies worth more than a billion dollars - the United States boasts 101. Europe has 47, of which 18 are based in Britain.

Why does America have such a big lead? A lot may come down to the fact that US firms get more funding.

The BBC's Jeremy Howell spoke to David Kramaley, chief executive of a start-up called Chessable, about how British investors compare to US ones.
