Daniel Hannan MEP says Mark Carney should stick to brief

The Bank of England says "nothing has changed" following contradictory reports on how long governor Mark Carney will remain at the bank. A spokesman told the BBC "the governor has said he will make his decision public by the end of the year."

Daniel Hannan, the Conservative MEP, says if Mark Carney plans to stay on in the role he needs to leave the "rock-star banker" to one side and "stick narrowly to his brief".
