Beijing tech crackdown: China's new data rules come into effect

From Alibaba being slapped with a record fine to Tencent's suspension from rolling out new apps, Beijing's crackdown on the technology industry has been considerable and it's expected to continue for years to come.

Now, new rules require companies with more than one million users’ data to undergo a review before listing overseas.
