Edinburgh Uni will be UK's most expensive to get degree

The University of Edinburgh has announced plans that would make it the most expensive place in the UK to get a first degree.

It wants to charge students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland £36,000 in tuition fees to do its standard four year course.

Student groups have condemned the plans as "staggering and ridiculous" but Edinburgh says it will offer generous bursaries for students from low income households.
