NASUWT: Strike 'may come in Autumn school term'

Teachers may take strike action in the Autumn term as part of their ongoing dispute with the government over pension reforms, the general secretary of the NASUWT has told the BBC.

Chris Keates said that the union had a mandate for strike action but also pledged that any walkout would not take place during exams season.

She said members were "very serious about taking action in order to defend pay and conditions" but that strike action was a "last resort".

Her comments came as she spoke to James Landale, guest host on The Andrew Marr Show.
