Head teacher attacks Michael Gove over 'culture of fear'

Education Secretary Michael Gove has defended the "gifted inspectors" and "scrutiny" of Ofsted after a head teacher told him that teachers were suffering from a "culture of fear".

Mr Gove made the comments during a question and answer sessions at the National Association of Headteachers (NAHT) conference.

Mr Gove said if "Ofsted is a cause of fear then I'm grateful for your candour, but I'm afraid we are going to have to part company".

Teachers at the conference passed a motion of no confidence in Mr Gove's education policies.
