Richard Dawkins questions telling fairy tales to children

Professor Richard Dawkins has questioned whether there is any benefit in teaching children fairy tales.

Speaking onstage to BBC Radio 5 live's Richard Bacon at the Cheltenham Science festival, the famed atheist and biologist said he was "genuinely uncertain" on the issue.

He told the audience, "It's rather pernicious to inculcate into a child a view of the world which includes supernaturalism."

"There is a very interesting reason why a prince could not turn into a frog... it's statistically too improbable."
