Are fairytales too frightening for children?

Researchers have found that some parents are choosing not to read classic fairytales to their children, because they have deemed them too frightening or politically incorrect.

Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Beanstalk are just some of the traditional fairy tales that have been read to children for years.

But future generations might not know anything about them.
