David Cameron pledges 250,000 free school places by 2020
Hundreds of new free schools will be opened across England over the next five years if the Conservatives are re-elected, David Cameron has announced.
Mr Cameron says it will mean 250,000 new places and will help improve standards and classroom discipline.
But Labour has criticised the proposals, saying that the state-funded but independently run schools lead to school places where they are not needed.
