Coronavirus: Secondary school pupil's worries about exams

More than one in five secondary school pupils in England were out of school last week because of coronavirus. The latest figures show just 78% of teenagers were in the classroom, the lowest level since September. Students from one of the worst affected areas this term, Knowsley on Merseyside, told the BBC they're worried about their exams with all the missed lessons.

The government says it will support students affected by the pandemic. It's consulting on back-up plans for exams in England. It will also have provided 500,000 laptops for disadvantaged pupils by the end of the year. Content in a few subjects like English Literature is being reduced and grades might also be awarded more generously than usual.
