Election 2015: Labour midwife plan 'good for women and babies'
A Labour pledge to guarantee one-to-one midwife care for women in England during childbirth will be "good for women and babies", the party's health minister has said.
Liz Kendall told BBC Breakfast that one in four women were currently being left alone at some point during their labour, causing anxiety.
A Tory spokesman said the coalition had recruited more than 2,100 midwives.
