Election 2015 smaller parties: British National Party (BNP)

The British National Party (BNP) is standing in eight seats at the general election and said it has been "completely disenfranchised and dispossessed" by the media.

Simon Darby said the BNP received 600,000 votes at the 2010 election - more than the Greens, SNP and Plaid - which meant it should also have been invited to the televised leader debates in the current campaign.

He told Andrew Neil on the Daily Politics: "Even if we have put up 600 candidates and spent £1m on this election, you would have found some excuse - you at the BBC - to completely erase us from the debate."
