Five Minutes With: Ian McEwan

Ian McEwan is one of Britain's most highly regarded novelists with works including the 1998 Booker Prize winner Amsterdam, On Chesil Beach and Atonement, which he adapted into an Oscar-winning film.

The author talks to Matt Stadlen about the exercise of writing, the importance of long, moody walks, the "thinginess" of James Joyce and getting to grips with quantum mechanics.
