WWI epic 'Birdsong' comes to London stage
When best-selling author Sebastian Faulks was asked about turning his World War I epic 'Birdsong' into a stage play, he said the process would be like trying to turn a painting into a sculpture.
But eventually he saw the positive side and the result, directed by Trevor Nunn in a stage version by Rachel Wagstaff, is now playing in London's West End.
The play stars Ben Barnes as the young soldier whose love affair helps him face the horrors of the Somme.
