Surrogate son for Elton John and partner David Furnish

Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish have become parents to a baby boy born to a surrogate mother in California.

The couple, who became civil partners in 2005, tried unsuccessfully to adopt an orphan in Ukraine last year.
