Damon Albarn's Manchester opera opens

The former Blur front man Damon Albarn and a 16th century alchemist sound like an unlikely combination but they come together today in Manchester.

The singer has chosen the historic figure as the subject of his new opera that opens tonight as part of the city's International Festival.
