Final preparations are underway for the 68th Venice Film Festival. Artistic director Marco Mueller explains why the festival is so significant for the film world.

This year the competition sees an entry from director Roman Polanski and George Clooney who opens the festival with a political drama 'The Ides of March' which he also stars in.
