Europe takes top billing at Venice Film Festival

Figures from the world of film are gathering in Venice for the city's annual film festival, with several hotly anticipated titles due to have their world premieres.

But while Europe was once better known for its art house scene, an increasing number of big-budget productions being showcased at the festival have been financed and made in the EU.
