Lord Patten defends plans for BBC cuts
BBC Trust chairman Lord Patten has defended plans to cut 2,000 jobs and radically change programming in order to cut 20% from the BBC's budget over the next five years.
Lord Patten said the BBC will be "leaner" and "more flexible" from the process.
Speaking on Radio 4's The World at One, he said the trust will consult licence fee payers on the plans.
