Mary J Blige's 'important' sequel to My Life

It has been nearly 20 years since Mary J Blige's debut album took the music world by storm.

Now she is set to release her latest album My Life II...The Journey Continues, a sequel to her 1994 album, My Life.

She told BBC Breakfast about the difficulties she faced when she made My Life, which included facing her abusive childhood and substance abuse.

"I just think it is very important to do a sequel to the My Life album because we need to be reminded of how far we've come," she said.
