Snow Patrol thank Jo Whiley for start

Snow Patrol say the BBC DJ Jo Whiley was key to their success as a band after she played the six minute version of their first single on radio.

The band's lead singer Gary Lightbody told BBC Breakfast he sold the bulk of his record collection to support himself during the band's humble beginnings.
