Aaron Sorkin's eagerly anticipated drama, The Newsroom

The first episode of The Newsroom, which has been one of the most eagerly awaited new programmes of the summer TV season, has been aired in America.

Its creator is the Oscar winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin whose previous TV successes have included The West Wing which was set behind the scenes at the White House.

Sorkin's new series focuses on the world of television news.
