British acts celebrate 2012 US chart success
British artists are celebrating an unusually successful year in the American charts in 2012.
One Direction, Adele and Mumford and Sons have all reached number one, with Cher Lloyd and Ed Sheeran also earning praise and loyal followings.
It is the most successful year for British acts in America since 1985, when Phil Collins and Dire Straits were among the stars topping the US charts.
