Kate portrait artist Paul Emsley: 'I tried my best'

The artist who painted the first official painting of the Duchess of Cambridge has responded to criticism over the work.

Paul Emsley took several months on the painting, using a technique of building thin layers of oil and glazes on canvas.

Emsley told BBC News that he wanted to highlight the Duchess' hair, dimples and smile.
