Game of Thrones: Can you speak Dothraki?
More than five million people now hear a few words in Dothraki or Valyrian, the fabricated languages spoken in the television series Game of Thrones, each week.
It has been reported that this is higher than the number who hear Welsh, Irish Gaelic and Scots Gaelic combined.
Dothraki, spoken by the nomadic horsemen, was created by David Peterson, president of the Language Creation Society.
Mr Peterson told Today presenter Evan Davis that he invented the language after the creators trailed the programme with the actors speaking gibberish but "it sounded just awful"
"It was an artistic choice," he said and explained that Dothraki is made up of 3700 words.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday 9 May 2013.
