Why are women 'seen and not heard' in film?

You might think it would be a good time to be a woman in Hollywood - with the recent success of films with female stars like The Hunger Games, Bridesmaids and Twilight.

But a new study suggests women are still "seen and not heard" in many blockbusters.

Research carried out by an American university shows that speaking roles for women are at their lowest levels for five years.

BBC Breakfast spoke to film critic Larushka Ivan-Zadeh and film producer Elizabeth Karlsen about why women may be overlooked.
