Lynda La Plante on a life of crime writing
Twenty-two years ago, the crime drama Prime Suspect had the nation on the edge of its seat. It made household names of its star Helen Mirren, and its writer Lynda La Plante.
Since then La Plante created some of the best known crime dramas on television. Another of her hits is Above Suspicion, based on her series of novels about DCI Anna Travis.
The latest book in the series - Wrongful Death - is just about to be published. She spoke to BBC Breakfast about how she always had fresh ideas for her novels.
