David Tennant 'thrilled' to wear Ian Richardson's ring
David Tennant has revealed he was "thrilled" to be given a ring worn by one of his predecessors for his stage performance of Richard II.
Former Doctor Who actor Tennant has been wearing the amber stone once sported by Ian Richardson, who played the same role at the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1973.
Rebecca Jones spoke to Richardson's widow Maroussia, who sent the ring to the Broadchurch star after finding it whilst tidying up at home.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 1 November 2013.
