Doctor Who fans and stars are celebrating as the iconic TV show celebrates its fiftieth year.

Audiences have met 11 Doctors since the first ever episode was broadcast on BBC One on November 23rd 1963

A reception was held at Buckingham Palace to mark the occasion.
