Best actor award for Lenny Henry

Lenny Henry has picked up the Critics' Circle Award for Best Actor for his role in the Pulitzer Prize winning play Fences.

His portrayal of binman Troy Maxson in the August Wilson play, a meditation on race set in 1950s Pittsburgh, was hailed as the most powerful of the year.
