Blues supremo BB King is put under spotlight in doc

He may be nearly 90 but BB King's influence on the music world is still going strong, according to the director of a new documentary about the blues musician.

Jon Brewer says he had a pick of possible big name interviewees when he started to make the programme, with Bono, Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr all wanting to take part.

88 year old BB King is considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time but his early life was marred by the early death of his grandmother who brought him up, after the end of his parents marriage.

Director Jon Brewer talked to BBC Breakfast about BB King, The Life Of Riley.

BB King, The Life of Riley, is on BBC Four, 21st February at 2100 GMT.
