Noel Edmonds: BBC is 'sleepwalking towards disaster'

The BBC should be run as a not-for-profit organisation with adverts and product placement, Noel Edmonds has claimed.

The ex-BBC star turned Channel 4 presenter said the licence fee was "no longer appropriate" and the corporation was "sleepwalking towards total disaster."

Mr Edmonds claimed that he and other investors would consider buying the BBC in order to run it as a commercial enterprise.

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Richard Bacon: "The BBC's current policy is fatally flawed and the business model can't be sustained."
