James Franco and Chris O'Dowd's Broadway debuts

Actors James Franco and Chris O'Dowd have earned rave reviews for their roles in a new stage adaptation of the John Steinbeck classic, Of Mice and Men.

Both actors and Gossip Girls Leighton Meester make their Broadway debuts in the play, which has opened in New York.

The Hollywood Reporter described O'Dowd as 'tremendous', whereas Franco's performance was said to be 'equally honest and beautifully crafted'.
