Mike Leigh's Mr Turner exhibits in Cannes

British director Mike Leigh says he ordered actor Timothy Spall to brush up on his painting skills before playing the famous artist JMW Turner in his biopic, Mr Turner.

Speaking at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, the actor admitted he spent over two years preparing for the role.
