The Tiger who came to the stage

In 1968 author Judith Kerr wrote the book The Tiger Who Came to Tea, a children's story based on a little girl named Sophie who was "having tea with her mummy in the kitchen, when suddenly there was a ring at the door".

Since then the book has sold millions of copies worldwide and been enjoyed by children and parents for generations.

Six years ago the story was adapted for the stage with songs and lyrics by David Wood and the production is now back in the West End.

David Wood and actress Abbey Norman, who plays Sophie, told BBC News what it is like to translate one of Britain's best loved children's books to the stage.
