Second life for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats

The musical Cats is returning to the West End later this year. The musical first opened in 1981 and ran for 21 years and has since been translated into 10 languages.

The plot was inspired by T.S Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats written in 1939.

The new production reunites the original creative team of director Trevor Nunn, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, choreographer Gillian Lynne and designer John Napier.

Lloyd Webber and Nunn told Brenda Emmanus why they are excited about the comeback.
